Explanation of Third Term with the Help of Examples

Following example explains How to Find or Locate Third Term in a Statement of Proportion.

Example 1 : Find third term of the following:
a) 1 : 2 :: 11 : 22
b) 15 : 30 :: 8 : 16
c) 50 : 25 :: 8 : 4


Answer = Third Term of the following ratio in Proportion:

a) 1 : 2 :: 11 : 22 (Third Term is 11)
b) 15 : 30 :: 8 : 16 (Third Term is 8)
c) 50 : 25 :: 8 : 4 ( Third Term is 8)



Example 2 : Find third term of the following:
a) 10 : 20 :: 1 : 2
b) 5 : 30 :: 2 : 12
c) 3 : 27 :: 1 : 9


Answer = The proceed is as :

a) 10 : 20 :: 1 : 2 (Third Term is 1)
b) 5 : 30 :: 2 : 12 (Third Term is 2)
c) 3 : 27 :: 1 : 9 (Third Term is 1)



Example 3 : Find third term in the following statements of proportion
a) 9 : 81 :: 5 : 45
b) 100 : 50 :: 80 : 40
c) 1 : 13 :: 2 : 26


Answer = The proceed is as :

a) 9 : 81 :: 5 : 45 (Third Term in the Proportion is 5)
