To understand How to do addition on number line, study the following two examples :
Example 1 - Solve and show (6 - 4) on number line
Since we have to subtract 4 from 6, so we start with number 6 and jump backward 4 units from number 6 i.e. from 6 to 5, 5 to 4, 4 to 3, 3 to 2 and reach on final point i.e. "2". And we know 6 - 4 = 2
Example 2 - Solve and show (5 - 2) on number line
Since we have to subtract 2 from 5, so we start with number 5 and jump backward 2 units from number 5 i.e. from 5 to 4, 4 to 3 and reach on final point i.e. "3". And we know 5 - 2 = 3
Example 3 - Solve and show (7 - 4) on number line
Since we have to subtract 4 from 7, so we start with number 7 and jump backward 4 units from number 7 i.e. from 7 to 6, 6 to 5, 5 to 4, 4 to 3 and reach on final point i.e. "3". And we know 7 - 4 = 3
