Define Right Circular Cylinder

Cylinder Base Cylinder Axis Lateral Surface Area of Cylinder Total Surface Area of Cylinder Volume of Cylinder

Before you understand what is a Right Circular Cylinder, you must know the following terms

1) Base of Cylinder
2) Axis of Cylinder

Definition: In a right circular cylinder, Two plane circular ends are parallel to each other and Axis line is perpendicular to circular base.

In the following diagram of cylinder:

1) Two Circular Bases are parallel to each other.
2) Axis Line AB is perpendicular to both the circular bases.

Some other important points in Right Circular Cylinder:
1) The radius of the circular base is known as RADIUS of the cylinder.
2) Length of Axis Line = Length of the cylinder = Height of the cylinder
