Multiplication of a Whole Number & a Fraction

From following examples you can study How to multiply a Whole Number and a Fractional Number :-

Example 1 : Multiply 5 and 12

Answer = Write whole number 5 as Fractional Number and we get;

× 12

Now divide, multiplication of numerators by multiplication of denominators and we get;

5 × 12
1 × 11
= 60

Example 2 : Multiply 10 and 6

Answer = Write whole number 10 as Fractional Number and we get;

× 6
7


Now divide, multiplication of numerators by multiplication of denominators and we get;

10 × 6
1 × 7
= 60

Example 3 : Multiply 10

and 8

Answer = Write whole number 8 as Fractional Number and we get;

Now divide, multiplication of numerators by multiplication of denominators and we get;

10 × 8
12 × 1
= 80

Divide both numerator and denominator by 4 to convert fraction into lowest term and we get;
