Before you understands the difference between Like and Unlike Fraction: You must know:

What is a Decimal Place ?

Decimals having same number of decimal places are known as Like Decimals , while Decimals having different number of decimal places are known as Unlike Decimals.

Example. Study the following two groups:

  • Group One - 0.39, 32.46, 90.45, 0.93, 32.06 and 42.48.

In Group One, did you notice anything?

Yes, all the decimals in group one has two decimal places.

And, so decimals in group one are known as Like Decimals.

  • Group Two - 41.9842, 68.06, 0.504, 10.1
